Muskoka colour ride Sunday Sept 28th

I have done the following and really enjoyed:

141 west from port sydney
632 south to port carling
118 east to bracebridge
117 east to Brunel Rd
Brunel Rd north to 10
10 west back to 69 and repeat

you can link in 35 from 117
or south wood from port carling

also check out Muskoka Road 38 as that can nicely be linked with Southwood as well

29th? heheh nice route

Yeah does look like a nice route.. blitz to Severn Bridge then enjoy the twists and the scenery.

Hmm scattered showers up at the top tho :(

Don't much like the look of that tho lurking to the west...

I was at Algonquin today in a car. Probably saw at least 2 group rides from here. Many many people were out today from all over.

Anyway, to report, on 117 the colours were peaking today Saturday. Algonquin already has peaked so the line is around 117 for pop. And 117 is a nice road. Hwy 11 to 35 on 117. Was tons of bikes in Dorset today.

Well considering I got up at 10 am and have clients coming over I guess a long loop is out...maybe take a week day instead.

This of course had some bearing on it...

I rode Southwood last sunday .. huge mistake for a couple of reasons, it was cold and the day before it rained. besides the cold and the odd puddle here and there ... Should've went to day lol. but anyways, be very careful on southwood, there's lots of dirt on the road and rocks. Somewhat choppy too in some areas. I almost took a spill around on corner cause the dirt/sand camo'd with the road, back tire almost came out from under me. (i'm sorry for some reason I can't press enter to make a new line lol) ... Best bet for a nice scenic ride would be... 169 across to 118, right on 118 to a left on peninsula road (very very nice stretch of road), at the end of peninsula road, you'll enter the town of rosseau, along Lake Rosseau. In rosseau you'll take a right on 141, you'll see a restaurant called crossroads (very good food btw), take 141, until you hit 35, continue on 35, make a short detour onto 50 (high falls road). Then you're back onto hwy 11. its a good loop, my buddy and I did it in about 3 - 4 hours, with a lunch break. You won't regret it, there's some nice twists in the road that follow through a very nice cliff side wall, and water on the other side. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. Stayed local - too overcast and potential rain. Just starting in the GTA region

Some decent colour at the Forks - jammed with riders and over sight seers....
