Many beginner bikes are priced at the outstanding balance on the loan. By the time you add tax, PDI and a high interest loan, the outstanding balance is well above MSRP. They figure they haven't ridden them much and should be able to get all of their money back. They don't realize that the next buyer has to pay tax as well which drives their price to the moon.

A lot of people feel that the price they are asking should reflect the fun times they had riding and that the new owner should pay for the good times they had on the bike which they are now giving up. This is the mental approach they take and are surprised when it's been online for two weeks and no interest is expressed, except for offers that reflect the actual value of the motorcycle.
Aside from rookies trying to recoup money from their mistake (purchasing a vehicle they didn't need or want), beware of emotional attachment freaks - the ones that call their bikes "my baby" and think they are "one of a kind" even if it's a 2005 GSX-R600.

I thought it wasn't legal to sell plates in Ontario? I thought your two options were keep them or turn them in?
As a side note, when did personalized plates get introduced in Ontario? Obviously before 1987.
Useless to a new owner so far as actually using them, once personalized plates are used/attached, they can never be transferred.

That is technically not true although practically it basically is. You can transfer to a family member.
You can also transfer to a non-family member but it would be complicated.
"A transfer to an unrelated vehicle purchaser may be permitted where there is a strong existing relationship between the two parties, and the buyer has been the operator of the vehicle prior to the transfer as co-habitant, or the co-habitant’s parents."
Definitely not worth the trouble unless someone is obsessed and wants to jump through hoops.
If he throws in a few months rent so you can co-habitate, his price is much more reasonable.

Don't care what it sells for still to much money.
Apparently someone paid $264 for it. Scrap aluminum. Maaaybe one or two salvageable parts ... rear sprocket looks ok.
