Ford GT now available. $400grand. No all wheel drive, no hybrid powertrain, virtually zero tech.

Suddenly, the NSX seems like a screaming bargoon.....

Carbon tub, mid engine rear drive gas burner..... oh god YES

Also built right here in the city! How cool is that. Last traditional supercar? Getting close. If the zombies don't destroy everything, this GT will be a museum car one day.

I'd buy an NSX too, for winter duty and groceries.

yeah baby yeah!

<insert video from a couple of unknown Youtube hacks here>

I call staged BS. The results were quite different in the Motor Trend test. It barely came in 4th, and Porsche and McLaren didn't even bother sending their flagship hybrids to the test. Hell, even the bloated, 3800 lb. sub $100K GT-R beat it.

Yeah that video is dumb.

NSX came close but couldn't outrun a GTR http://www.motortrend.com/cars/acura/nsx/2017/2017-acura-nsx-vs-nissan-gt-r/ what chance in hell does it have against an Aventador

And in that article they didn't get the fastest time with a GTR either, they've tested it before with even better numbers.

If speed is the object, NSX is NOT the answer. Aventador runs a 10.6 cmon lol

What a beast... I'd have that over the NSX all day. Actually, you could have 2 :)

Had a chance to drive in the new Vette a few months ago...holy crap talk about stupid fun! I loved every bit of it, and didn't drive it because I already had a few pints before my buddy showed up :(

Ah to be rich and have all the money for these toys...where'd STB go to? He had some fun toys IIRC...

Wow it actually got beat by a Grand Sport in the lap times. That's a Z06 without an engine.. dayumn! I guess R&T couldn't get their paws on a 911R either. EVO gave that the COTY honours, though they had plenty of good to say about the NSX too.

Don't care.

The Corvette was the least expensive of the bunch, both in base price, and as-tested.

The Lotus ... "It's the only car here that's fun when you're driving slow or fast. That counts for a lot." Zenlea concurs: "Even plodding along in traffic, the Evora entertains." Then ... "Without a doubt, the Lotus is the best pure driver's car in the group."

The Evora is one of just two cars here with a clutch pedal. The other is the Corvette Grand Sport. It would be a mistake to characterize it as a bigger, faster Evora; Smith says of the pair that "the Evora is the only real car here, in the traditional analog sense. All the rest are machines. Except the Corvette, which is a machine that does a damn good impression of a car. Every aspect of the Corvette is computer-controlled, yet it's done so well that it feels transparent."

The Lotus is the driver's car of the bunch, and that's the one I'd have. It's also the smallest, and the lightest.

I'd have the Vette, maybe with a side of S2000 for autocross. And a nice pair of shoes.

NA FTW.

I ran across an article that reminded me of this thread. Seems that Honda is having a wee bit of difficulty actually selling the NSX. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/20...egetables-honda-eating-crow-nsx/#more-1597368

When a Honda model goes to "special order only" that's usually the last step before cancellation ...

Meanwhile, there's fairly credible evidence that the Corvette is going to get a mid-engine sibling in the next year or so ... (it seems like it will be sold alongside the current model, at least for a while)

Mules have been spotted around Detroit.
