What's more dangerous?

i 100% agree with you. However I don't think the drivetest centers would appreciate having to clean up vomit on a daily basis.

I know you were kind of joking but this is probably the reason why they don't do this...because someone's sensitivities might be hurt. I'd rather someone's sensitivities were hurt rather than me being hurt because some assclown thinks they are indestructible behind the wheel of their Mazda.

Yes, I was kind of joking. Like I said before, I 100% agree with you. Let's show them the horrors of when you screw up. Being in my field that I am. I've taken some photo's of vehicles with brain matter splattered all over the roof of a mini van. (not joking) I've seen some stuff that you can't unsee.

Aside from the vomitting, I think the amount of law suits that would be levied aginst the government would cause any carrier to drop them (psychological damage)

I also agree with tigher testing procedures. I also believe along with the photo being taken every 5 years, you should also face a road exam. So you can get dinged for all those bad habits you developed. I think some people would probably "fake it till they make it". Drive real nice for the examiner and back to being an arsehole afterwards.

This means all of those riders had more skill and balls than you.

No, it means they were taking a greater risk. Skill doesn't play into it. "Balls" maybe, but it sounds stupid and dangerous.

Canadian driving is easy, if you think this **** is dangerous, go to Asia and ride in ANY major city.

Your credentials are astounding. Everyone will surely retract any and all statements due to your comparison.

And honestly, if you think it's dangerous and they really are endangering your life, do what your primal instincts are screaming; chase them down and beat the **** out of them. If you don't feel the urge to, it ain't dangerous...unless you aren't feeling cause you're dead.

This may come as a surprise but certain people deal with their emotions in a much better way than you. Not everyone is out to beat up others after having survived an actual harrowing experience.

Potentially. But I have a better understanding of safety and traffic laws.

You can't compare Asia to here. "Western" countries.. ie. USA, Canada, UK (Scotland, Wales, Ireland, England) , Australia, New Zealand.. and other parts of Europe possibly - France, Germany, Netherlands Etc. are far different than Asia/SouthEast Asia/Middle East where the road culture is significantly different. Ie. Common for overloaded buses, trains and Ferries.

Technically motorcycle riders are. In Ontario motorcycle riders make up 2.44% of registered vehicle but make up 7.6% of total deaths. We should help ourselves as a large percentage of collisions resulting in death are single vehicle (42.1%) leaving incidents with cagers at 57.9%.

saw an idiot on a blue SS cutting through cars in heavy traffic on DVP making everyone slam their brakes so he could get a few car lengths ahead
This is pretty much every SS rider I see on the highway. Then, if it's someone I work with, I'll later hear them saying how they love taking their bike to work because they get here so much faster since they can easily "cut through traffic" (aka ride like a moron and have every try not to run you over).

I've also encountered some guy on a big cruiser on St. Clair that repeatedly passed me in my lane, lane split active traffic, etc. Almost hit him once when I went to change to the proper tire track for proper blocking position and he suddenly passed in my lane.

You need help if you think Alberta is worse than here. The only bad drivers there are the morons that moved there from onterrible. You can generally spot them for miles. Onterrible and mainly the gta next to Vancouver are easily the worst two places to drive in the whole country.

Geez I posted some pretty stupid **** back in the day lol

I still have no problem with splitting but do not do it anymore due to too many close calls with cagers intentionally opening their doors to knock me off. Hell, I don't even commute with the bike anymore.

However, if you split me while we're heading towards a ramp, I will pass you with a thumbs down in the ramp >=)

Fatal Crash numbers have dropped 30% over 20 years.

As for province.. Alberta is by far the worst

ss10_figure_9.gif

Numbers equal to Quebec, despite half the population and much, much less population density.

Dude I lived in Calgary for 10 years. The ****** drivers aren't from there.

That's the whole problem. Everyone believes it's not them. It's got to be someone else.
Maybe some training is in order, since you think it's everyone here?

=====================

Riders are definitely the problem percentage wise. We also put up impressive raw numbers.
I can count on three fingers, the number of riders I've seen on the road that aren't complete idiots.

What I get from those statistics is that unlicensed riders without helmets are the safest group.. I totally knew the government was holding me back! Maybe you can forward it those people who seek to repeal helmet regulations too.

How many riders are you assigning per finger and have you ever thought about auditioning for The Simpsons?

Why not Tom & Jerry?

I take comfort in the fact that on a motorcycle it's more difficult for these fools to take someone with them when it all goes wrong. Better they ride bikes than a pickup truck or SUV.
