WOW, what an awesome ride!

Well, had a failure with Artemis (my KTM RC8r).
The gear position sensor got all out of whack. Clicked to first, showed "N", up to 2, Showed 1 or 2, depending on her mood. N typically showed 2.
Did some research, and it appears to be a semi-sort-of-common issue with the RC8/r.

Ordered a new part. $185 later, I get a piece of gear the size of a toonie with a 7" wire attached. Sigh.

Installed it today. What a pain in the butt.
1) Remove bodywork
2) Remove hydraulic clutch bracket
3) remove rear wheel
4) remove rear front sprocket and cover
5) remove kickstand
6) remove left side engine slider
7) pull gear position sensor and wire wrap

WTF? Starts leaking oil from gear position sensor mount location...

8) Quickly plunk in new sensor to plug oil leak
9) reinstall in reverse...
10) *CRAP* Messed up install order. Have to remove parts, correct install order..
11) Test gear positions...
12) Clean up.

3.5 hours later all good.

sounds like a job, glad you got it sorted!

Ah yes... KTM...
At least they look sweet? :D
What are your thoughts on the RSV4's?

What are your thoughts on the RSV4's?

Love them. Sound is amazing too.
Maintenance can be finicky like any Italian bike.

44teeth just compared new panigale v4 to latest rsv4 on track. Good watch on YouTube. Overall decision was that rsv4 was easier to ride fast as the panigale felt frenetic all the time.

As a side note, I think I found a bike louder than mine! The RSV4 with SC Project exhaust sounds absolutely godly. Mmmmmm :D

Anyone up for a zip to Hockley Valley and back tomorrow (Sunday) around 1:00pm?
Easy pace. Nothing stupid.

Lukas from our facebook riding group is hosting a ride tomorrow to Hockley and area. They are meeting at the Tims at noon at 120 Ottawa St. N. I think there are a few other guys coming out as well.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it as I work all day tomorrow

For anyone wanting to join a ride tonight, Charlie is hosting at 6 at the tims on Ottawa/King. Likely gonna stop for food after at St. Louis

Sorry about that Doozer....
Sometimes the truth doesn't go over so well.

Thread is unlocked and has been censored. We'll just leave it at that.

Anyways, onwards and upwards.
