The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Fantastic ride again, thanks all for coming out. I really liked that loop, though it was a little long for a weekday!
Seems like we all committed a genocide against the bugs... going to be "fun" to clean!

too late in the day, I'll be making my way towards GBM in the afternoon

Group Ride to Hockley Valley and back...

Date: Monday, May 21
Location: Tim Horton's, University and Bridge Street Waterloo
Meet Time: 1:00pm
Kickstands Up: 1:15pm
Route: To Hockley and back. Guesstimating 4:30-5pm.
Pace: Relaxed. M1 Friendly.

It's a holiday Monday, so the cops will be out in full force.
THIS IS NOT A RIDE FOR 160+ EVERYWHERE. No Shenanigans. Period.

Your heading to GBM on Monday? Camping at the track so you're ready to roll nice and early?

Yeah.. .Smergy gets his practice laps in beforehand... at night... by the gentle light of the firefly.. such is his zen.

I rehearse going through the bean field before each GBM day... I heard they finished planting back at home so we are good to go.

I would expect so, if Tim posts a ride he's usually pretty good at sticking to it

Some good weather coming up this week, nice and warm!

Date: Thursday May 24
Time: 6, kickstands up 15 mins later
Location: Tim Hortons at University/Bridge
Route/Duration: Conestoga Lake Loop, about 2H
Pace: Medium

Hope to see you out there; should be a blast as always!

*knee slapper*!

Better than a bean field!
You and your "organic bean oil infused rims" leave something to be desired....

Trip to Ganaraska Forest with Trail Tours happened today...
Had a fantastic time overall - we were the only 4 clients today!
Did some crazy whoops, single track and hill climbs.
Gotta say, dirt biking is just great fun, and I learned a ton today.
Started on a Honda CRF230, moved up to a CRF250x later in the day. The 230 is very capable and had enough jam to do anything I asked, but it was just a little short. If the handlebars were raised up 2 inches, I would have stayed on it all day. The suspension on the 250 had some more travel, which made some of the more extreme single track whoops much nicer to ride.

Body's really gonna hurt tomorrow... can feel it stiffening up already!

One thing I forgot to mention...
Saara seemed to like finding sandy piles to have short naps in.
Kelly enjoyed giving his bikes unexpected rest periods.
Randy had a bit of a relationship with a small tree.
And me, well, I got down to my roots and played in the mud.

Got a bunch of video I have to scroll through and edit... will post it up later when I'm done with it.

SMP June.4 is looking unlikely with the current delivery schedule, its going to be super tight. Given the process so far, I can't say I'm holding my breath.

Work is still beyond crazy here, with Monday's being one of the busier days of the week, so it's looking less and less likely that I'll be going as well.
Here's hoping June 19th will work out....
