Went to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. I enjoyed it. If you like the series I'd recommend going to it in the theater. Really impressive world building and attention to detail.

I thought it was great. Way better than the first one.

Checked out Equalizer 2. Denzel is pretty solid, good hand to hand fight scenes and helping out that troubled kid. The movie was entertaining but mostly forgettable.

Venom... ugh somewhat entertaining but kinda hard to watch. The visuals of how Venom is rendered is the best part of the movie.

Predator (2018) .. don't even bother beyond stupid... even for eye candy, Olivia Munn can't save it, and she is quite terrible in this.

Just saw the latest "On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter", even though it came out in 2014.

It's directed by the son of the original filmmaker of "On Any Sunday" and showcases more of the current racing scene: Marc Marquez, Travis Pastrana, electric bikes going head-to-head with gas bikes at Pikes Peak, ice-racing, and even manages to throw in a porn star in there as well.

It's produced by Red Bull, so there's a focus on Red Bull-sponsored riders, but still a great documentary with some fabulous photography.

"Mr. Right" - A romantic comedy with Sam Rockwell as a hitman, who falls for Anna Kendrick's befuddled character. Predictable, but fun.

I went to Mortal Engines recently. It's a really good and novel sci-fi movie; lots and lots of world building and expansive excellent CGI work. This movie shows how well CGI can be used in sci-fi production to realize novel universes and facilitate storytelling. Since it's not Hollywood-made this movie has been getting some big shade, and nonsensical commentary. Too bad, as movies need a lot more novelty that what's being shoveled to the masses. I recognized a number of good-to-great actors; see if you can recognize who does Shrike.

Sci-fi has always been the poor step-child in movie-making. Support the sci-fi efforts if you want to see more sci-fi movies!

Watched "Hostiles" on Netflix. Not bad. A bit slow and a bit ridiculous. Another Hollywood "white shame" movie. But mildly entertaining.

Watched Venom last night and it was bad. They should have gone for a dark R rated movie. Best part about the movie was the clip from Into The Spider-Verse which I have to say looks visually amazing and just might be a really fun spiderman movie.

Watson and Holmes.

Complete *****.

One or two funny scenes, the rest of the movie was seriously lacking.

grabbed a copy of A Star Is Born - 2018
hard coded Korean subs
but PQ looks really good
will give it a try tonight

Took the kids to see Wreck it Ralph 2. Kids were super happy and I enjoyed it. ANd the Christmas Chronicles on Netflix was surprisingly good family fare. Kurt Russell as Santa? How has it taken so long?

The wife and I enjoyed Christmas Chronicles. Just watched Dumplin on Netflix and it was an OK feel good movie. Nothing outstanding though.

Bad Santa was good but Bad Santa 2 was nearly unwatcheable for us. It’s just bad.

I was disappointed in "Aquaman", despite being a Momoa fan. If you're trying to erase the butt-of-the-joke Aquaman and make him into the badass that he was in later comics, you don't have whinnying seahorses and Topo the Octopus playing 8 drums in the movie.
