A bit of info of myself
21, GM2. I have my G1 for about 4 years now so state farm is no go, but luck me i have my M2 for a year now!

Here is my quote with desjarden

2477$
1million liabality
300 collison
300 comphrensive

1468 (liablity only)
1million liablity

1570$
1million liablity
+ theft

Also good thing is, they accept monthly payments! So range from around 120-200$ per month.

Where else should i check? For sure TD, Rider Plus should i check with rbc insurance?

I got into an accident on Friday and I'm pretty sure that my bike is a write off.

How do they determine the value of your bike?

I'm just wondering approx. how long it will take them to give me a cheque for my bike, helmet and torn clothing etc.

I want to buy another bike and will just use my credit card if I can repay it within a month or two.

Thanks.

So TD MM's online quote charged me 250/month for insurance. I also checked with State Farm (180/month), but here's the problem. They need you to have your G licensing for 5 years. I would reach 5 years on August 1st (I'm 21). Wondering whether anyone knows of an insurance that will cover me until August, or perhaps another insurance company that is as cheap as State Farm? Going to call Desjardins today and see what they have to offer. I really don't want to wait until August and miss out most of the riding season :(

Thanks !

PS: Those quotes are for a 09 Ninja 250

My current company gave me a quote that was only about $400 less. Is there somewhere I can I finally catch a break or am I asking for too much? 09 Bonneville, best quote has been about $1400/yr but I'm still not too happy with that... Clean record, this is my 8th season riding.

So I just got my renewal it went up 500 bucks, from $2000 to $2500. Now I was expecting an increase just because of the Jevco to Intact switch. Online quotes were putting me at about $2300 clean record. I'm 99% sure I have 4 tickets. They have record of one from Oct 2010, and 1 from Jan 4 2012. Thing is I got two convictions that day, and then another a couple weeks later on the 20th...So how they hell do they only have 2 on record? I should just stay quiet and pay up which I was going to do had they not booked any tickets, but if I've apparently only got two I might as well shop around...Is it possible they got prematurely wiped or something?

I was given a 1990 Honda VTR250 to me by my brother and I've been trying to find insurance for it. I am 21y/o with a G license and I've got about 4.5 years driving experience(starting from my g1), I only have my M1. I called a few insurance companies like Meloche Mennox, JR Duffy, and state farm( wont insure me without 5 years experience), is there any other companies that will insure me for a reasonable price? Thanks for the help!

Hey,

I've been reading up on this forum (awesome community here) on figuring out how to get first time insurance for a 1972 Honda CB100 (100cc). I'm going to be taking my M2 in a month but have been calling around to many brokers / insurance groups and no one will insure me based on the year of the bike and that the engine displacement is too small. TD Insurance would give it to me if it was a 1973 but not 1972 (huh!)

Was wondering if anyone had suggestions for brokers / groups to call that would be willing to insure a bike like this for pleasure, whatever the price may be. I can't wait to get this on the road : )

Thanks! Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi guys, i'm a returning Canadian, been overseas 10 years due to my dads employment. I'm 23 this month, I have been riding for 4 years and have a clean record. I am also a former cop and have a police licence -defensive, pursuit, escort. So now that I have returned, I got my full G and M licence converted. I have purchased a bike, an '09 Triumph Scrambler. I'm getting quoted rates of $9300, $8600, $7300. The best i've seen is $6300. The reason its so high according to them is, my experience isn't recognised here. Instead, they say that as I received my Ontario licence this year, they will take me as a new rider/driver. Every single quote is more than I paid for the bike. What in the ****ing world? A driving ministry can recognise my experience but not an insurance company? What the hell am I supposed to do? If anyone can help me with this issue I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried calling the brokers in the sticky on the front page.
