Hi there,
hope someone can help me !
I just got my M1 and I tried to get some quotes for the byke I just bought. WOW ! the lowest one was 1600/yr. and only payable in full. (no monthly payments) can someone tell me why ? is there any hope for me to get a lower rate ? :(
and I really need to get it insured so I can get it licensed before the safety certificate expires
so there is some data on me:
got M1 last week
got my G1 an G this april
I'm 28
never got a motorcycle insurance
my only auto insurance dates from april this year
the byke is a 81 honda gl500
Thanks, I'll be waiting for advices, opinions..... anything ! ;)
honestly man, most places require that you pay the full amount, thats just how it is with bikes. Also, consider yourself lucky that 1800 was your quote. Im 18 and paying 3000 for a 04 cbr600rr...

the place is called Tribute, the guy is called Mike... he hooked me up with 3000 a year, upfront... not too bad, still a lot, but could be much worse...

yeah that's a lot, but still, I am 28 and my byke is almost my age :D and cruiser and 499 cc !
Did you try Meloche Monnex. You may need to have a car insured with them and be a member of certain alumni groups or professional associations
With Melloch Monnex you pay in 6 installments. Also if you were looking for coverage now, it would be pro-rated and you would pay something like ~$100 from now until february (year is Feb to Feb).

My rate would be $1561 for $1M liability with a three payment plan. Based on current rates that would drop to $947 in year two assuming a clear record and then $515 @ age 30.
