Done this thousands of times. It is a bit trickier on my SM though with the huge suspension travel.

+1 to reciprocity's comments - but I wonder if the stand and frame are up to this? My stand flexes a bit and I wonder how strong the attchment point is at the frame to do this (ZX-6R)? It's quite easy to spin, but my neighbours think I'm superman.

ie, clockwise, spinning the rear wheel around first.

This will have you pulling backwards on the kickstand at all times and will make it impossible for the weight of the bike to move forward slightly and roll the kickstand up when you want it to happen least.

I've seen lots of people do this and the bike gets away from them and falls over.

I saw the vid, went outside and did it. I felt awesome--but no one was around to watch it. I'll try again at 5 when the foot traffic is at the max and see how many phone numbers I get.

But with my luck, I'll probably will drop it in front of everyone.

Always seems like this would stress the hell out of the sidestand and/or mount, so never tried. Besides, people are impressed when I (130lb) just put my ZX-11 on the centrestand. :P

If you've ever owned a bike(s) that leans a little far over because the kick stand has been bent from abuse over the years (as I have) you wonder how good an idea it is.

I have done it on rare occasions but usually there's no real need.

kickstands on SS bikes seem to be thinner than the sport touring bikes.

I've done this a few times... although I don't entirely trust the kickstand on my bike.

To follow up to my first post: success. But After I turned it around a few times I looked like an idiot.

everyone does this in Vietnam spinning their bike on the kickstand. Never seen it done here nor knew it could be done but reading others posts looks like it's nothing new and could be done on most any bike.

I'll try it on my bike when I'm bored at work.

here's the picture in my head

    place foot by kick stand
bring bike up to balance point
kickstand breaks, punches right through your foot
you bend forward in pain and shock
    the bike falls toward you
breaking your legs backwards at the knees
you still fall face forward onto the bike, like a bent pretzel
then fall all the way back, hitting your head
breaking it open like a water melon

thats what goes through my mind when I see that done

lol well i dont see the kickstand breaking. i see guys sitting on their bikes feet up all the time no issues. plus itll likely bend before breaking

Will snap your kick stand off at the frame, or it'll just bend it slowly, so your bike looks like it's gonna fall over when parked. You'll be lucky if the latter happens, the former $$$.
