While on our mission to get a burrito today, Yetti spotted a cop texting while driving. I wish he had a helmet cam.

The car does belong to the taxpayers, but it should be siezed like any other vehicle the way 172 is currently being used. Here's what should happen, there is a depreciation or charge out rate on any vehicle that is used like this, the Cop should be billed this "vehicle charge" for the 7 or 8 days that it is held in a compound with every other vehicle. The Cop should also be responsible for all damages or vandalism that happens to the vehicle while it is in the compound. If it's okay for our expensive personel property to be towed by magilla gorilla, kicked over on it's side by the Cop, then it's okay for the police vehicle to sit there the same as they'd do to us without a second thought.
The loss of DL and insurance hit is only part of this deal, the potential damage to your bike or vehicle is as bad or worse. Let them park a cruiser in an impound for a week and let the kids throw rocks at it over the fence and see how they like paying for it.
Glad to see this badly thought out and law is working out so well
Get in sit down buckle up and shut up and hang on !
