Another one. Fantino's creed of no exceptions continues with these catches.

Because they lied.
*EDIT* I just looked at the reports of several stunt driving charges that involved police officers and, unlike the grandstanding stories in various media outlets, the ones involving officers didn't seem to report the speeds involved.

Like many active sports, shooting has the potential to cause personal injury.

The O.P.P. are the most ****ed up police service out there.
GTAM- your #1 stop for internet tough guys
Nice example of double standard ..... it's surprising that it gets even to the media outlets out there.
yeah.....I'd like to know if copper-racer was honking along a 200+
the media and nanny-state like to crucify citizens going that rate....so lets have some details on the Durham copper
where's the headline?
"Officer Clocked at TWICE the limit!"
"Officer Clocked going 110kms OVER the limit"
"Officer Clocked at DOUBLE the speed limit"
where's his name?....where's his speed?....where's his driving record?....where's the video on him getting cuffed?
does the media just do this to Parvinder from Brampton?
Actually the LAPD is a pretty good police department. Chief Bratton came in 5 - 6 years ago and worked very hard to clean up the department and its image. More than once I had to go to or through South Central, East LA, Compton etc. and never once had a problem. I lived in LA until last summer when I was transferred to South Carolina; I would go back in a heartbeat.
Impounding a police car? Why don't they just give it to another cop to use.

But do they actually have to leave it at an impound lot and pay impound and towing fees??? Somehow I don't think that happens. They probably leaving it sitting at a police parking lot somewhere.
I mean it is freaking stupid if you ask me. A police car shouldn't be impounded, nor a garbage truck or a anything. They just do it to say they are being even across the board.... it helps pull the wool over the eyes of the general populous.
I'm afraid there will be eventually no person untouched by the new law. Cops, Judges, Ministers, teachers.... etc... etc...
It's wide coverage of so many things you can be charged for and being the officer's descretion along with being a huge money making stimulas will be hard to reverse unless we find a way to convince the courts that this law is indead violating our rights. There will be legit cases to prove that this law is needed and the odd wrongful accused thrown out is going to be a sacrifice some will have to make.... kinda like friendly fire killings in war...oops... my mistake I can't fix.... sorry to those it affected....and shrug it off.
don't just ride... slide.
The Police car belongs to US, the taxpayers.
It should be taken away, he should be disciplined (fired, just like any other employer would do) and the car put back into service.
Good questions. Why not have GTAM members ask the Durham Police Service by email http://www.drps.ca/internet_explorer/index.asp If enough of us ask they may get the message?
EDIT: or try www.opp.ca
The media goes into apoplexy / hysteria when these happen except when it's a cop....hmmmmm
I bet you if it was an unmarked opp car they wouldn't have stop it at all???

I don't believe that it is commonly done with police cars either, but they aren't talking about it. In this case it may actually have been seized though as it was an officer from another force (ie. not OPP), and the banning happened immediately rather than "after an investigation."
