    Shakespeare last night

SEBRINGVILLE — Police don’t expect to release the identity of a motorcyclist killed in a collision near Shakespeare until Friday morning.
OPP Const. Christina Hunter said police have not been able to reach all the victim’s next of kin and won’t release the name until they do.
“We haven’t been able to get to the person we need to get to,” she said late Thursday afternoon.
A man on a motorcycle was killed in a collision Wednesday night after a woman drove through through a stop sign at Highway 7/8 and Road 106 east of Shakespeare.
Perth County OPP said a Honda UEX was headed north on Perth Road 106 at approximately 8:20 p.m. when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 7/8.
The male driver of the Suzuki G60 motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the UEX, a model of Honda Accord, was transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries. She was treated and released.
Const. Hunter said police are considering charges against the Honda driver.
“We’re certainly looking at that based on evidence at the scene,” she said.
The Honda driver’s name was also not released but would be together with the name of the victim tomorrow, Const. Hunter said.

Just got the news release on this one, she was charged with disobeying a stop sign.

    **

On Wednesday August 5, 2009 at approximately 8:20 pm, Perth OPP responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 7/8 and Perth Road 106, just east of Shakespeare.
A Honda UEX was travelling northbound on Perth Road 106 when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 7/8. The Honda UEX entered the intersection and collided with an eastbound Suzuki G60 motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, Adam WHITEHEAD, age 26, of Stratford, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The female driver of the Honda UEX, Rachel QUEHL, age 18, of Tavistock, was transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries. She has been treated and released.

Rachel QUEHL has been charged with disobeying a stop sign contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

    RIP Rider.

but do not forget, anyone operating a vehicle should be aware of everything on the road equally, not pay special attention for any one kind of vehicle. Choosing to ride a more dangerous mode of transportation is a choice *we* make.
