    Spark plug gapping

Hey guys, I was just wondering...what would be worse, slightly overgapping, or slightly having a gap too small?

For example, if the recommended gap was 1.1mm but the gap checker only had 1.07 & 1.12...which would be the better way to go?

    Just curious.

    Thanks!

When the gap is too large the plug won't fire.
When the gap is too small you will not be getting optimum combustion.

    Make it a tight 1.12 or a loose 1.07.

    0.02mm isn't very big.

My service manual lists the recommended gap as a range, not a specific number.

Check to make sure the 1.07 fits with a touch of slop and the 1.12 didn't fit. Thats what I would do in that situation.
