    Adirondack Park - Need Suggestions

Highly considering doing a Brockville to Montreal run via the long way through Adirondack Park/Lake Placid. Heard great things, but I know nothing of the area.

    Suggestions greatly appreciated.

You HAVE to go up Whiteface Mountain. It's about $15, and on a perfectly clear day, you can see Montreal.

You drive as far as you can, then you can either take the elevator to the peak, or climb 1/5 mile to it. It takes about half an hour to an hour, depending how much time you spend up on the peak.

It's the windy road that snakes through North Pole (right by Lake Placid), if you're looking on a map.

I agree any maps would be great, as I have been thinking to check this out too.

ANY road through the park is good. Watch out for wildlife at dusk.

+1 for Tracy Road. Me and Djez rode this on our east coast trip. On of the better motorcycling roads in the park.

I'm heading there next week with the wife (2-up). I was going to take the 401 to cornwall and head south to lake placid. It'll be my first time there and first time motorcycl camping!

Anyways, the route just seems very boring and doesn't offer much in terms of scenery or twists.

Does anyone have a suggestion to make my route a little more interesting without adding much time to my trip?

I go down thru Ivy Lea, cut across to Gouvernuer (sp?) avoiding Watertown, then get over to hwy 3. It's a lovely way into Lake Placid.
