    518 condition?

    518

Last time I was on it was '07. Rough everywhere, huge grooves in the turns...
    Has any work been done?

Last time I rode through was October 2008.

518 west of Orrville was straightened to straight-edge boredom and repaved. East of Orrville, to Sprucedale (I think), it was torn out and turned into a gravel road.

I'm sure we did this road earlier this month and it was fine.

Going again next week, I'll let you know.

i think last year at PSB, they where blasting to pave and striaghten it, and sections where nothing but rubble..

Dood, rocks are just bigger pieces of gravel.

Anyway, paving work was finished by October 2008. Or atleast the segment west of Orrville. East, not sure if they're done.

    Re: 518 condition?

I did a ride about 5 weeks ago and the road was a little rough, but ok. There was a section, if I remember correctly, that was paved pretty good, but it that weekend I did a lot of riding. Good times.

some of 518 is new asphalt, nice surprise since it was my first time riding here. There is a real short section of gravel just west of Sprucedale/Stistled rd. Ravenscliffe was 90% clear, just a little sand still.

    Rode it yesterday

Rode it end to end yesterday, it was better than it's been in the last couple of years. We rode it to the end then back to Sprucedale, then followed Stisted St. another nice windy rd down to Huntsville. We were at the Sportbike rally for two days, in all we rode about 300km on 400 series hwys and 700km on back roads. Great couple of days.
