    Elephant lake road

Stay away. It is in terrible shape , pot holes galore. Was there June 12th and wouldn't recommend it unless your riding a dual sport .....
    Just sayin

No problem. That was my intent to warn people , it used to be such a sweet road to ride.

not true! road was fine, not as good as 507 but pretty safe. straightaways had patches of soil and dirt but all corners were good. i was up there with a group yesterday.

I was there about 2 weeks ago myself and I thought the road was pretty good. Then again, I was moving at a high rate of speed and didn't have time to LOOK.

I was up there about two weeks ago on my VFR (not really a dual sport.) The road was fine. There were a few sections with potholes in the straights but I don't remember having to adjust my line in any corner because of road conditions.

The only minor issues I could see were two sections close to the Maynooth end that had a three foot strip of gravel across the road. One was close enough to the entry to a corner that it took a little attention.

All of the culverts have been replaced and are only covered with dirt/gravel right now. Signs indicate the road is supposed to get resurfaced this year.. probably with chip and tar
We're also replacing a lot of poles and placing fibre up to Harcourt park, so expect lots of construction this summer

just goes to show: some like it gentle, and some like it rough.

I was there a month ago with some friends. Little bumpy after you first cross the sharp right hander but overall it was decent. I don't recall any potholes at all.

    Re: Elephant lake road

I was there last Saturday(June 13) and there were strips of unpaved gravel spread out througout the road, almost acted like speed bumps. Overall, it wasnt that bad. I took a group of 6 up to 507 and elephant for their first time and they thought it was awesome. I didnt mind the bumps since there were plenty of warnings and even at really crazy fast, I had enough time to slow down for each strip.

    Re: Elephant lake road

This past Sunday I rode it and didn't even think the little gravel patches were all that bumpy. I think they have settled down a bit. Just make sure you are pointed straight going over them and no big deal.

It's a nice road to ride, i prefer it over the 507, has very little traffic.

A group of us ran it a week ago and thought the same thing. Magnum, did you happen to have a blue Busa with a white-haired rider wearing sweat pants in your group?
