Only if you meet the vehicle occupancy requirements (2 passengers).

What about if you only have 1 seat on your bike? Sorry man, I'm full up
its really not that complicated.. there are signs everywhere... 2 passangers or more..
if you're riding with a passanger, you + them = 2 (see how that works)....
THEREFORE you can use the HOV lane.
in the city they have pretty little pictures of a man on a motorcycle... THAT means you can use that lane as well..
I actually thought bikers were allowed to use the HOV lanes, because we are eco friendly. I was going to use the lane last week, but decided not to at the last second . . . I thought it would be best to research first. It was a good thing I didn't use the lane, because there was a cop camped out close to the Hwy 7 exit!

Who can use HOV lanes?
HOV lanes on provincial highways are reserved for any of the following passenger vehicles carrying at least two people (often referred to as 2+):
A bus of any type can use an HOV lane, even without passengers. This helps buses keep to their schedules and provide reliable, efficient service.
- Car
- Commercial truck less than 6.5 metres long
- Minivan
- Motorcycle
- Taxi or limousine
- Bus
Emergency vehicles are permitted to use the HOV lanes at all times.
Which vehicles are NOT allowed to use HOV lanes?
- A vehicle with only the driver
- Motorcycles with only the driver
- Commercial trucks greater than 6.5 metres in length or with a gross weight of more than 4,500 kg
- Taxis or limousines without a fare
Just to Add that there are some HOV's in Toronto that can be used by a motorcycle without a passenger.

Funny though that this line might mean its not in effect yet.
"Once the existing HOV signs are altered to include a motorcycle/scooter pictogram, this change will take effect."

At the time that this came out yes. I think this was back in '08 when they allowed motorcycles on some of the diamond lanes in the city of toronto. They had not converted all the signs to include motorcycles at that time. now I think we should be good as far as signs go.
clearly the rule requires two persons on the bike. but the rule is not consistently enforced. I will often duck into the HOV lane southbound at 401 when the DVP is backed up. it takes me to 401 west where I pick up Leslie to continue south. the cops sit in the tunnel under the 401 and I have simply been waived through twice now and have never been ticketed. maybe my good luck is about to run out?
