Re: Andrew Nelson - Wildcard WSS Miller

Anyone know if the GTU class is using the same layout as WSS? If so, that makes Elena Myers the fastest lady so far (or should I say girl, she's 16)

Re: Andrew Nelson - Wildcard WSS Miller

The difference between the two main layouts is quite big, so they must be running same/ very similar layouts.

If, come qualifying, the leaders have the same time, a 2:00.317 will be needed to qualify. MJ needs to drop at least .5 of a second, likely more as qualifying can get fierce in WSS.

The WSS bikes, from every team are faster than everyone of the Canadian Superbikes!! They have every trick electronic that you can think of, and many things I didn't know even existed!

The feedback from a few teams on Andy's riding was that they were embarassed for their riders. We had the same problem at Miller as we had at Calabogie (at Miller we made 101hp). This is a fast trrack and the WSS teams were anywhere from 140 to plus 150hp.

On the real fast sweepers Andy was bumping into the back of them, and leaving the others behind...however, anytime you had to open the throttle, it was sad...and it was open throttle a lot! (We know what went wrong, and is being fixed as I write this...hopefully!)

All the teams were great and very helpful. Yamaha France and Italy were particularly helpful and couldn't stop from laughing at our bike, with iginition key and stock forks (internals). I guess traction control, tire temp sensors, launch control, active remote engine management etc. helps those riders go fast!!

Thanks to everyone who helped us get there...too bad we couldn't have been better prepared for Andy's sake...several others thought that Andy would break the top ten if he rode for their team...one can only hope!

    Thanks to all again.

    Rick

btw, MJ tried real hard and came so close...I'm quite sure she'll be back next year...much better armed to get in to the final.
This makes his finish even more impressive.

Here's hoping he gets more opportunities, on the proper equipment next time.

Thanks for posting this franz131. I knew he was going to be out gunned horsepower wise, but I didn't realize by how much. Definitely a good showing by him.
