I'd take an original 70's Goldwing, something like this

or this, he's in Toronto too

You gotta be kidding. Cafes are built to be light and nimble. What a pukefest.

    Re: Goldwing cafe racer

I guess you would have to look at power to weight ratio....still...must be a gas to ride....like the original v-max

    Re: Goldwing cafe racer

Thought about it.. father's got an old '77 Goldwing complete with the Vetter fairing, fugly period Hondaline luggage, and painted a hideous wine-red decaying in the back of the garage after it lost out in the competition for his time..

But then, I got enough money-sinks as it is. I do like the concept though, even if it meets every definition of a 'lead-sled'.

That thing would **** kick most cafes out there...They put out nearly 100 hp...compared to 50 max for any old Honda 350-650...And there are some vids floating around of Wings flying down the "Dragon"

Hey good find. This one from Toronto belongs to my boss at work. He rebuilds old Hondas and is a perfectionist. It's his second hobby. His first is to build race cars from scratch and race them in VARAC. He's had a Lotus 11, sprites, MGs, raced in Formula Fords, the old Honda league etc etc..

Trust me, if this is the type of bike you like, you can't go wrong in purchasing it.

Now that's more like it. A good cafe needs a balance of style and substance. The Goldwing may have substance but it has no style, at least not for a cafe. Like hot rodding a full size truck with low profile tires and wing spoiler, not my cup of java.
