Maybe a warm week, month might fix the bumps
If your gonna do stupid stuff you better be tough
you guys are soft lol...
hit-up the forks this weekend and it was nice, a little bumpy, but nothign a little logic couldn't solve
only complain was, too busy! there were millions of people all posing up at the corners, which worries me a bit, cause that's the worst spot to just hang out and eat your lunch when i'm coming around that corner like a twisties deprived maniac
hockley was aight.
just ride with logic and true representation of the size of your cahunas and you'll be fine.
peace.
Forks update 27 Aug 2009
Construction highway 10 to just past Maclaren Road. Pavement is chewed up because it's about to be re-paved ... which will be a good thing in the long term, because the sweeper S-bend was getting nasty. Right now you can ride on it, but it's all a construction zone.
Construction right at the hairpin to the corner above the hairpin, road was down to 1 lane today with the police directing traffic.
Was there on Saturday the 29th. Construction as mentioned above. Road was torn up. Would've been much easier if I didn't have a passenger. Both lanes are open all the way from the west until Highway 10/Hurontario, where construction trucks are moving back and forth.

(going West, off hwy.10) road is grated until the first set of twisties (the ones under the trees)...there are pebbles everywhere. the rest of the way is just like it was before.

The Forks is fine from Belfountian east bound to McLearn. . . then go north if your heading north.
From Hwy 10 east to Mclearn it's fresh ground and the pavement has lots of loose material and hole right thru to the gravel bed.
It is rideable just keep it tight on the gravel section.
Cam
and if you have a passenger, be sure to tell them to hold tight and stay still.

went today, road wasn't too bad except for a fairly large and deep gravel patch on the Westbound side, but it's easy to spot if you keep some distance. This was my first time out there and I gotta say I was kinda disappointed. WAAAY too much traffic on that road to take in the twisties and scenery when cars are chugging along at 20 and braking on the uphills. I had more fun on Hockley road.
Dont go on a weekend or a holiday. If you can go during the week, you'll enjoy it a lot more

Did the Forks yesterday evening and its now driveable again. Lines are painted, but the road still isn't finished so there are a few rough spots and loose materail here and there. Nowhere near as bad as it was a few days ago.

That road looks yummy =)

If you like the Mississauga Road North route out of Belfountain, they've been patching the pavement. In the long term, that's a good thing (the pavement was getting broken up) but right now, there is leftover loose asphalt all over the place.
