On a side note, you should put nitrous in that Lotus. ^^

lol. My 1st bike was a 2000 CBR 929RR. I fell off my ex fiancee's horse and hurt my back real bad (three years ago) and sold it. I figured I'm healed now, so just bought the R6.

I dropped the bike about 2 mins from my house on the way home from the dealership. Exactly 69 km's on it when I dropped it.

    Drop thread:

I've died twice before. I figure at least on a bike it'll stick this time (jokes).

Whops, sorry. Forgot what stang we were talkin about there. Yeah, can't prove the one in my G35 race.

While we're talkin about side notes: my pocket bike video: http://www.likestuff.com/videos/pocket%20bike.wmv

Good shot of my Grand Prix, G35 and the ex fiancee's XRS in there. hehe.

    For 1k you get:
    - EFI controler
    - Quick shift
    - Traction control

That's a decent deal if you ask me...
That is a map selection unit, ie, you can advance and retard timing, fuel delivery for different conditions.

It is a manual system that allows you to select which map to use at different times on the racetrack.

Without wheel speed sensors, it cannot detect wheel spin and activate automatically.

it will be useless for his application.

This is no different that the system that comes on GSXR's from the factory and many KIT race ecu's have been using multi-map capability for several years.

A passive traction control system? Didn't know they existed!

    Thanks again for the info!

You are better off trying to fix the root "cause" of the traction problem rather than trying to band-aid it with traction control after the fact. Either go go with an extended swingarm (yuck), smaller shot or get a progressive controller!

I saw the original post before the edit. There was nothing in it confirming that it happened on the street.

Streetracing is bad... everyone gets it, ok?

Got one... now. Is there any funky device that would know what gear the bike is in? My progressive controller has two sensor inputs, so if say I could get a "current gear display device" or something and wire it to the controller, so if I was in 1st or 2nd, nitrous not armed. 3rd, progressive stage 1, 4th progressive stage 2, 5th and 6th full flow or something like that. I suppose I could have a dual arm switch, one for progressive and one for if I was already in 4th or 5th.

    Hmmmmm.

Read this article... he has a progressive controller that can be set to prevent nitrous from being sprayed until the desired gear.

I dunno.. some ppl cant seem to beat the "DON'T STREET RACE!!!" horse enough. Any post about going fast where the poster fails to t explicitly state that it happened on a track gets certain ppl's panties in a twist.

Ahhhh. Shift Counter! I can rig one of those up with a linear sensor I have... sweeeet!

Arm it in 1st. It'll count the gears and arm stage 1 and 2, etc. automatically. Sweeeeeet.

I don't think that automatically entitles you to pickup the pieces

maybe I'm dumb, but shouldn't you actually ride the bike to see what it's capable of before going out and doing things like adding nitrous and changing gearing? From what I gather, you've had the bike for about a week, crashing it on your first ride. Maybe it's fast enough to soil yourself without spending a dime?

i would also liek to be there...jsut out of curiousity...not that im expecting anything bad, or in need of any r6 parts...i just want to see how much of a difference it makes...and btw, the easiest way to solve this problem is to jet for 10 hp... bottles will last longer, you'll get a little kick (which im sure is what you want) and you wont kill yourself in the process (hopefully)

but i seriously want to see the potential of a 600 on nitrous....nothing more
