Ancient Rider, new member
I am happy to become a member in this community of motorcycle enthusiasts, while not technically in the GTA as of the middle of December 2008 and now in cottage country, I grew up in North York and then spent 23 years in York Region, specifically Aurora.
I have owned at least one motorcycle since the age of 17 and will continue to ride until I'm simply no longer physically able to do so. It's been a passion since the beginning.
I currently own only one, she's the girl of my dreams, the relationship lasting longer than my marriage, besides when I want to ride her, I never get the dreaded "not tonight dear, I have a headache" She's a Rickman CR.
I'm pretty much only into the sport bikes, as I love the Knee dragging twisties as opposed to cruz'in. As I was one of the founders of The Ontario Road Racing Association, I guess that pretty much says it all in that department. Closest bike I ever owned to a cruz'er would have been my old BSA 250cc single cylinder thumper, fun bike, but for the first couple of weeks I owned her I sometimes tried to shift with the brake pedal, an act of futility, of course that was short lived and the switch became second nature. For those of you who haven't owned or ridden a Brit machine, the rear brake and shifter are reversed from the Japanese iron. Hence the reason for my behavior..
