speed limit up + increased fines = revenue neutral
(wouldn't want to lose revenue would we???)
but still a good idea

this will make those anal-rape victims caught on 400 series highways just a tick over the magic number....down right furious
I guess Manitoba never got the memo that outright speed turns a car into a missile that kills baby seals, donkey-punches grandmothers, and confirms that the drivers are the equivalent of a drunk

I enjoy listening to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven.
110? Gimme a break. If their traffic situation is as bad as we have it here in Toronto, they need to increase it to at least 130! I guess they already drive 120 just like we do without too much interference from the pooolice!
has anyone driven those stretches? you can't compare them to our highways.
The Trans Canada through Manitoba (and SK) is NOTHING like the 400 series highways here.

from ppl i kno who have driven west , it's just a dead-straight road with no tree's lining the sides alike the 17 in N-Ont . so , in addition to the lower volume of vehicles i presume and the lack of hazards like moose/trees lining the shoulders , the speed limit is higher .
one could probably do winnipeg to edmonton in a day easy compared to the intensity of making tbay from toronto in a day .
I did it twice. Once on a tracker Trailer from Montreal all the way to Calgary and back, and another time on a car from here to Winnipeg. Anything after Kenora, you may as well close your eyes. My sister is in Winnipeg so I drive on their hwy quite often when I am visiting.
ive done them many times.
think 3 lanes, but divided into 2 lanes, then add a standard shoulder on either side of the direction, then a ditch grass divider, then repeat.
in short, very wide lanes, very wide paved shoulders, grass ditch. very easy to drive
