    SUOMY Helmets

I've been trying on helmets and it seems that Suomy gives me the best fit. Only problem is the price and not to thrilled about the graphics.
I did find one online that I like though, the Spec-1R Araldic..shes a beauty
    Anyone own a Suomy?
Whats your experience with the helmet?
..and where can I get a discounted '08 model here in Toronto?

Using a Suomy Extreme - Biaggi for 2 years.
Very good helmet. Good fit for my melon and light enough that I dont get neck pain after a long ride. removable liners is alway good. Very stable helmet at hiway speed. Definitely up there with your Arai and Shoei. The Suomy are known for their non conventional paint scheme. Its crazy but very eye catching.

Yes very eye-catching.. the colors can't be missed but some graphics are way over-the-top.. a bit tacky maybe
I did find it light and snug.. only helmet that wouldn't move up & dwn on my head.. but is it really suppose to squish my cheeks to the point that I slur when I speak?

awsome helmets... take it easy on those side pods though,
changing visors can be tricky and expensive if you snap those pods.

I bought an older Gunwind at Parker Brothers and I'm very happy with it. Plush and quiet. Very high quality.

I have 3, 2 Extremes and 1 Spec 1R. Probably the quietest helmets I own, very light, love the plush interior.

Speed Addicts Cycle on ebay probably has the best prices.....

Great lids, but don't compare to Arai RX7's

I love my Spec 1R , awesome lid....... a had an Arai before , which began to fall apart a year after I bought it.... so far , so good with the Suomy....... I took a medium in an Arai, but needed a large in a Suomy... I got mine here: www.motoworldonline.com

great price , fast shipping , and friendly service.... Cheers ! Les

great helmets, very comfortable liners, but the visor changes take a little getting used to and they are loud (because of the side pods, but it's not an issue if you're wearing ear plugs)

Did you actually try on the Spec1R? Different models have different shapes and fit differently so make sure you have tried on the model you'll be buying.

I tried the Extreme (same as Spec1R) couple years ago and it didn't fit me, it was too loose. I ended up with an Arai Quantum2 in XXS. This year for ***** and giggles I tried on a Vandal in XS and it fit me like a glove, even better then the Arai... so I got the Vandal.

sportbiketrackgear.com is blowing out some of their Spec1R and Extreme stock.

    Re: SUOMY Helmets

I own a Biaggi rep, used it at the track exclusively. Main reason is that I find the right side strap presses on my jaw and hurts after a while - on track days it doesn't bother me for short stints, but on the street it gets annoying fast.

    Anyone else have this problem?
