So, you're basically saying that someone new getting into something new should look at all things from every perspective available to them. Brilliant! (not being sarcastic, just simply synthesizing your approach I guess)
    Sigh... yes.
It sounds obvious, but for some reason it seems people forget to do this in a moment of excitement.

A SS is sharp in it's feedback, the line of going over the edge is narrow compared to that of a bike geared for learners, that gives you ample warning of what the bike is feeling.
And NO not everyone can give honest, unbiased and accurate advise because they don't have enough of a history to back it up with,.....
    +1 great post.

[1] Like not wearing your seat belt a lot of people can start with SS's and not get hurt. That doesn't mean that not wearing seat belt is a smart thing to do. You're stupid & lucky is all.
[2] Riding a bike is way more complicated than driving a car. Car has steering wheel, brake and accelerator - so both hands and one foot. Bike has - 5 controls plus steering & balance. It's true that a noob can probably handle a SS if nothing goes wrong. But if something does go wrong you're not likely to have the instant practiced touch on the controls + steer + balance.

[3] How would you feel if all 'cagers' were driving F1 race cars on the street? If they gave you your own arguments back to you about why it's OK to ride SS, would you buy it from them?

a 600 SS is meant to be ridden with 'an edge', otherwise just get a smaller bike or a GoldWing.
