Best and worst websites to buy from - Reviews

    Hi,
I have been crusing through many US websites looking for some gear for the upcoming season... Found lots to buy, but am still a bit gunshy to buy from the web without knowing how smooth or rough the purchase will go.
If anyone has the time to help out and contribute their opinions and experiences I would really appreciate it (I am sure others would as well)

This is not the end all and be all as to these merchants, (different people have different experiences) but I'd rather buy from a place that has done well with someone then buying on blind hope.

If this format has already been set up on another thread, I apologize, I was unable to find it... and yes, I do my best and hope everyone will consider the site supporters for their purchases as well.

Please cut and paste if you'd like.

Thanks again for the opinions and contributions... they will have a major effect in who I use to order from the web.
Please add anything you can think of that may be important that I missed... I am not a survey specialist!

    Cheers

I use ebay. I have bought My carbon mirrors, my Rk chain and sprocket kit, and my double bouble windscreen from ebay. Nothing but good comments on ebay. Just make sure the perons your buying from has a reputation that is good. I bought a double bouble smoke tinted windscreen for .01cent from hong kong. Paid $30 for shipping, but you show me where you can get a double bouble windscreen for $30 lol.

I bought all of my new gear from New Enough. They're located in Texas and they were a pleasure to deal with. A jacket I bought didn't fit quite right and they fixed me up with an RMA and a shipping bonus to help cover the costs of returning it and getting another jacket back.

If you don't mind some funky looking colours, their closeout section has some really amazing deals. (Oxtar boots 100 bucks from 350? YES PLEASE, even if they're garish white!) They even had a Hein Gericke Tricky jacket for an amazing 155!

Keep in mind, I did order last year when we had an amazing conversion rate. I spend 250$USD on the jacket and it ended up being about 270$CAD including duty!

The only thing is that all of their helmets are SNELL rather than ECE 2005 (which is my personal preference).

Oh just an aside, their name refers to their parts department (which I haven't ordered from yet), not their gear. All of the stuff I bought was 100% brand new. They do have brand new parts too, as far as I know.

I've had good luck with http://www.amotostuff.com/

They're located in Carson City, Nevada. They ship USPS, and give a discount for members of the V'Strom forum that I'm on. Lousy stickers though.

I order everything through either imotorcyclestore.com or newenough.com

I've never had an issue either.

I find that imotorcyclestore is generally cheaper then most webpages on most products, (tires, chains, gear). Shipping time is standard, usually 2 weeks appx, and they ship via USPS

Newenough.com has excellent customer service. I find their prices pretty standard, but their close out section is incredible if you can find something your size

    Iron Pony Motorsports

    Ohio somewhere

Bought jacket, helmet & gloves from them - jacket arrived minus 1 shoulder protector.

I called up expecting to have a massive fight on my hands to get the shoulder protector, they asked me my order number & which side, shoulder protector arrived labelled as a warranty replacement part (no cash value = no duty)

    Great service, good prices

I've bought from bikebandit.com and am very happy with them. They charge duty up front with the order so you know exactly what the costs are without the FedEx surprise at your door.
