Good idea. Most rides are concentrated on riding hard and far, with a pause for a meal in the middle. Nothing wrong with that, I just sometimes like to stop and smell the roses, take a dip in a lake, make an open fire barbecue, maybe even hike a little.

I'll be looking forward to joining rides as outlined above and will do what I can to organize a few myself. Another "Dark Sky Ride" and/or a loop through Algonquin with a swimming, eating and sightseeing twist.

Never been there, but my best guess would be that it's this place or one of the few other bay beaches in Bruce Peninsula National Park. There's only one way to get there from the South.

I've been up that way about 5 or 6 times and never went the same way twice, just meandering around. It's hit and miss to find a nice stretch of road or an interesting town. I just can't bring myself to go straight, especially since it's not that far. (We would camp...so we use the whole day to go one way).

Can you suggest the best (nicer) way to get there, I think I would like to also camp so there is no rush to get there.

That would be the place, but if you are looking for sandy beaches, go to the Lake Huron side, "Singing Sands" which is on the Lake Huron side is the best for sandy beaches and warm water.

Also, besides running between Owen Sound and Wiarton on CR 1

there is not much any other way to get up to Tobermorry.

Thanks. I couldn't find Singing Sands, can you give us a pointer? Sauble Beach looks nice too, but a little too populated for my taste. It's also the same distance from my place as Sandbanks, so it would have to be considerably better ("better" being a highly subjective term). BTW, I don't mind rocky bays surrounded by pine trees, especially if the water is warm, clear and there are places to jump in it from

Dorcus Bay Road, just outside of Tobermorry.

    I hope this works....

On the Georgian Bay side, the water is clear, plenty of of places to jump in , and warm water is really relative, but wait till end of July or August if you are looking for warm.

Got it here, thanks! Pictures look good too, will definitely check it out.

I think we've collected enough pointers to warrant a full day ride up Bruce Peninsula.
