Yep Just like The Hotel California "you can check out anytime you want but you can never leave"
Racing is such a great community that probably 85% of my freinds are in the racers or former racers. Thats why I started SOAR, it was time for me to get off the bike but I cant think about leaving the sport I love.

There was plenty of food, but I needed the money to fix my bike.

I crashed A LOT back then.

I think I got the record in '89 and '90 for the most crashes 26! 4 in one weekend!
Those Pirelli Demons Sucked huge! Especialy on RZ350's
In '91 I crashed once (not my fault was taken out) when i was on real tires

    That's a race I'm happy to lose.

I was only crashing once or twice per weekend, pure novice.

Re: How did you get into it?

Steve Crevier and Gary Goodfellow were my neighbours friends and they stopped by to see him with their trailers and bikes early in the week.
I was already a huge Lawson/Schwantz/Rainey GP racing fan, and just gawked at the bikes and gear as they were getting them cleaned and organized.
Crevier asked me if I had ever been to a racetrack before - nope. "See you Thursday and bring your gear, you're coming with us".
I spent the weekend at Shannonville with Crevier cleaning his bike and being a go-for. Spent the evenings with his crew drinking beer and eating Wendy's and being yelled at by Steve to shut the ****-up because we were laughing too hard at the length of the smear marks a Wendy's single can leave on Steve Dick's van windshield parked below our balcony!
By season's end, I had my RACE licence and was racing the following year.
I still have a chuckle with Fuzz when he's around.

And if Franz is who I think he is, I would line up beside him on my Katana 600 (no GSXR600's back then) in the rain, and he would just laugh! Him and I would be some of the fastest of our group in the rain when HP didn't matter a whole lot.
If it is the same Franz - great to hear your name. If not, then we probably bumped each other in a corner anyway!

Anyone remember the "oval" on the North Service Rd in Sauga?[/QUOTE]

I loved that oval, the reaserch center right, too bad they gated it, last time around we needed bolt cutters to open her up!

Hey Grimmy, good new and bad news: your old 600 is making a comeback, I'm bringing it to RACE this summer. But I'm running Pirelli's
