Hey all, I'm getting my first bike this spring and I'm totally pumped!! I'm looking at sports bikes... R6, CBR are on the top of my list. I know, I may be getting ahead of myself but if i'm getting a bike, even my first bike, I want it to be a nice one..
So all my friends are against this and telling me I'm just hopping on the bandwagon and following a 'trend'. In the past 2-3 years I've noticed a lot of younger guys investing in bikes... couple of ppl I know have one! Have you guys noticed this too? So many more sports bikes on the road, many of them owned by cocky young guys who think they're invincible. (I'm a girl though...) So I want everyone to know that this is my choice of a hobby, and I'm not getting a bike to look hot or just cuz others I know have one!!
Looking forward to riding and hoping I can meet some decent ppl on here...

people ride motorcycles on the street?
oh, and good 1st post.
Welcome to GTAM!
but wait! ...
shes a girl...
post a pic.. a good one.
that will help us come to a decision if you'll be following a trend or not
Trends come and go. Motorcycles have always been cool. Cool because of the freedom and horsepower to weight ratio mostly!(my opinion) Many people get into the sport(ss especially and hogs) becuase they think it'll be fun or cool or whatever. Many people stick with it and progress as riders, while others realize it's just not for them. Get whatever bike u want(it'll end up on the ground at some point keep that in mind), treat it with respect and do it all in baby steps. Wear gear that'll protect u and keep you comfortable while riding! Enjoy
Continue to learn and practice long after your 400$weekend m2 course!!!
It is what it is...
I have a black belt in anger!
hell yeah
I'm all signed up for the $400 weekend course thru Humber... everyone told me to sign up quickly 'because the course fills up quickly' (because its SUCH a trend) and when I signed up the guy told me I was the first one to join the spring course. So yeah. Thats the first step... All I have is a jacket I need everything else between now and then...

hahahaha...this is good
Lol - I like you already. And now you've met all the decent ppl on here so welcome to the henhouse.
Personally I'd get whatever the $#^%$ I wanted to and try to make good choices regarding the bike vs. your skill level. Bikes are not fast but the rider potentially can be.
Tarah
Welcome Ugly LOL First thing i would do is check on insurance before deciding on a 600 SS as your first Bike.
