Do you work for them or this is what they told you.
Read the information about SON on this site and see how many people, including myself, bought from them and had technical /money issues after the rode away.
    Lots of complaints.
I do not mind paying extra from another company knowing that my bike was assembled properly, etc.
That is was not a previous demo.
That it was not used as a "Show bike at the bike shows.
    "Buyer beware"

I will buy my next bike from Envy Rides.
I know they will not cheat/lie to me.

"That is was not a previous demo." Are you implying that Suzuki of Newmarket has sold demonstrators as brand new machines?

Let me put it this way...
New bike on the showroom floor with a tag on it that says"Demo"
    Tag later removed.
I will let you guess the rest.

Yup theres a memeber on here i remember reading about last year around this time where he saw his same new gsxr-1000 at the bikeshow. he matched the VIN's and sure enough it was his bike he bought on display at the show.
Took a few letters and complaints but he got his money back. wish i could find that thread i tried searching for it no luck.

Sorry to say that i am sure he was not the first and will not be the last.
It beats me how they can sell so many bikes with such shoddy service.
As i said earlier,"I wouldn`t trust them as far as i could throw them"

I bought a bike from them at the '08 Jan show. It was on the floor - I got there Friday when the doors to the show opened, bought the bike, and had the deal done 20 minutes later.
I asked them to toss a cover over it, so nobody could sit on it. They did without question, and also put a "SOLD" sign on it - and they also got special permission from the oganizers to take the bike out from the premisis and back to the shop after the show on Friday.
I went a week later to pick it up, they sent 2 kids to help me load it, and secure it on my trailer - and away I went, smiling.
I've bought 2 bikes from them - quality sales each time.

My new '08, (that I didn't buy from SON) came with a dent in the exhaust.
Neither of the two used bikes I bought from SON had any dents.

I suppose you either love 'em, or hate 'em at SON.
I'd buy from them again - no question about it.

It seems to be what I always suspected. No matter what shop you ask about, you will find those who love it, those who hate it, and those who are in the middle. Seems there are people on this site who've had bad experiences with any shop that gets discussed.

Now, what are SON's freight, PDI and admin. fees like? I've heard that they are higher than average. But since I bought my current bike back in '98, I have no idea what "average" is.

    Everything is negotiable, everything!!
Personally, I've only bought 2 used bikes from them, so PDI / freight didn't apply.
However, the fees were more than I cared to pay - so the 1st bike I bought from them took a couple hours, and a couple salesmen / manager to close the deal. I'm stubborn when it comes to paying for any type of service, and the price MUST be justifable. Until they lowered it to a cost that I could justify, there was "NO DEAL Howie". My 2nd bike that I bought, from the same salesman, was a cake walk - they didn't even try hit me up with "extra" costs.

    Re: Newmarket suzuki

I bought my 06 V-Strom from Suzuki of Newmarket.

I never had any issues with them.. they gave me a bottom line price and it was considerably cheaper than anyone else around, and by a significant amount. (By the way, being as I am a salesman I always ask for pricing including all fees, etc. I don't care what numbers they charge for what, all I care is the final price.)

I have had good luck the couple of times I brought my bike to them (for routine stuff. I have 60,00 km on my bike in two and a half year so did an initial service and a valve check) I buy a lot of accessories from them and the sales staff always says hi to me and I always get a good service and price from their accessory department.

Are they perfect? I'm sure they aren't and being the largest Suzuki dealer means that they will probably also have the largest number of people complaining.

Yet I was recommended to them by a happy customer who was recommended to them by another happy customer, and since then I know five or my friends that have bought from them and they all seem happy and keep sending them business.

    hahhaa oh boy...dream dream dream...

Thanks for the offer to look over a bike for me Frekey V-tom just offered to go take a look at the bike I'm interested in at the dealer tomorrow since I'm not in Toronto right now. I was thinking about going the private route BUT it also would be nice to have a warranty on a used bike in case something goes wrong!

Yes I am in st kitts, but I will mostly be in Toronto for the riding season because I work in the GTA during the spring/summer so that's why I'm looking at the SON dealership. What's this other place you're talking about though??
