I want to have my rims done in a black chrome finish. Can anybody recommend a high quality provider of these services?

black chrome kicks ***...but what kind are you looking for...chrome dipping or powder coating? I know a guy in kitchener that does power coating if you want to pm me.

I prefer the 3 step chroming process for the black chrome but it will cost matchbox 20 money but hey, it for my bike!

I would consider other methods if I like the look of the finish.

Please let me know if you hear of anybody doing this finish. I would love to have this done for my first ride of 2009!

I am pretty sure...but does it add the same amount of weight as normal chrome?

Black chrome powder coat looks nothing like real black chrome plating...

Here is my old R6 with the frame, swingarm, subframe done in BLACK CHROME powder coat...



IMO chroming wheels is a waste of money, if you dont take care of them they turn to **** (chipped, pitted, and flaking off). The chroming process weakens aluminum rims, ...And for what is costs, why not just get aftermarket wheels...For a show bike or poser machine I understand...

I'm pretty sure they do decorative chrome jobs but not sure for Black chrome. I only plated industrial Hard chrome and that's where I sent guy's for deco job's when they called.

Hopefully they can help if not let me know and I can call a couple of my contacts. Dont bother with places like DC Chrome / Ontario Chrome / North American Hard chrome, they're all hard chrome shops for industrial parts.

They don't do Black Chrome - but I will discuss with them on regular chrome if I can not find anybody that can do this in the GTA.

I know a place in Montreal that does Black chrome oxide but nothing decorative.

Made soem call's and off hand I gotz nothing for black chrome.

Still look's swaaaeeeet.

Might have to look to the U.S. for a supplier.

I still have not heard anything from KUNTZ. My new wheels arrive today and I was expecting to have them sent out for refinish this week.

I guess it will be in the January.

I've put on and off 20 tires on the Busa's back rim...over 5 years
not 1 problem EVER with the chrome........their the BEST
and only need to wash them every 700 to 1000 klms...dirt dont stick!!

I think Black Chrome is about the sexiest finish out there.

Last year I bought some peices online, that were to come in a plain chrome finish. I asked the dealer to look into having them done in black chrome -- his chromer apparantly said that black was a softer finish than regular.

Don't know if that's accurate, could be the dealer just didn't want to go that route for me.
