    Best chain/sprocket set up

I have a 2004 R1 and I'm looking to swap out the sprocket and chain. I want it to look nice and last a long time. Does a 520 wear out faster than a 530 if they are both maintained? What would be the best way to maintain it?

    Thanks

    Re: Best chain/sprocket set up

520 series chains and sprockets are smaller (widthways) and lighter in comparison to 525 or 530. As a result they do wear quicker and don't last as long. The price of such kits reflect this.

The best way to maintain your chain, regardless of size designation, is to keep the tension/slack on par, and keep the chain clean and lubed... with an emphasis on keeping it clean!

go 530, use steel sprockets and get the chain with the strongest tensile strenght possible

ps - I sent you a message about exhaust and tires
