I don't think it is a charging issue but could be an electrical prob, (lights flickering). The stalling could be carbs.

Quick one for you guys and gals.
After starting my 2000 gsxr 600 choke on, letting it warm to about 55 degress, and cutting the choke off, the bike stalls?
I then fire the bike up right away with no choke at all.
Weird?
Also, after firing, it seems as though my bike is ready to stall???
Lights flicker, but continues to run.
Any theories?
Thanks

Are you turning the choke off abruptly?? Back it off gradually instead of doing that. Back it off gradually to keep the idle speed near 2000 rpm until you ride away, then take it off.
By the way, you should not need to let the engine idle until the temperature reaches 55 C. Start the engine, and after minimum essential warm-up (not more than 30 seconds is ever needed), GO. Just avoid high revs and fast acceleration until the temperature gauge is in a normal range.
One other thing, I don't think this has anything to do with the charging system. The choke is totally mechanical with absolutely no connection to the electrical system whatsoever ... except that the speed of the alternator depends on the speed of the engine. The original poster hasn't said what the engine RPM is. Below the normal specified idle speed, the alternator may not be capable of generating enough juice to keep the lights at full voltage.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
To answer some of your questions, I am not shutting it off abruptly, I close it rathe slowly pretty much the entire time once it reches 40 deg. The only reson I used the number 55 deg, was because I was explaining the temp of the engine when the bike would stall.
And yes, my 600 is carbed.
