It's official, Sete Gibernau is back racing in 2009 on a satellite Ducati.

only to be beat into a second retirement lol
The "curse" continues.
I can see Rossi polishing the crystal ball now.
what's the deal with the animosity between gibernau and rossi? I didn't start watching moto gp regularly till after that happened, so i'm a bit lost.
Current:
2006 GSX-R 600
SOAR #46. Please don't hurt the FNG lol
- They were friends apparently
- They became each other's biggest rivals
- Sete's team complained that Rossi's team was cleaning their grid spot the night before the race in Qatar.
- Rossi punted Sete off the track in Spain on the last corner when it looked like Sete was going to win.
- Rossi put the curse on Sete saying he'd never win another GP race..... so far he hasn't
- After the curse Sete has some seriously bad luck with crashes, running out of fuel and mechanical breakdowns while in the lead.
- Sete is back.
i hope sete kicks rossi's *** (slim chance in reality, but you never know in racing). i know, i know, you all love rossi. but calling rossi's squid move a "punt" is generous - it was more like a fieldgoal attempt, and i've had bad feelings for rossi ever since........lost my respect for rossi after that dangerous move-and it left sete with a shoulder injury.
DEMOCRACY - NOT PLUTOCRACY www.globalresearch.ca
Yes you bring up a good point. I too didn't believe Rossi didn't get DQed for that move. It was A LOT more harsh than what Makoto Tamada did to someone at a race in Brno (he got DQed or lost positions). It was also along the same lines of Hopkins screw up going into turn 1 (forget the track) where he was suspended for a race or something like that.
Yet when Italians or Spanish riders do these things.... nothing happens.
- We know about the Pedrosa(aka Pedrasimo)/Hayden deal
- Capirossi twice. One looked almost IDENTICAL to Hopkins' screw up at turn 1.... I think it was even the same track.... anyhoo - NOTHING
- Capirossi again... ever see how he won the 250 title? There was a Japanese rider (Harada possibly) in front of thim.... he had to beat Harada. The move was very similar to Rossi.... he used the Japanese rider as a wall to keep him on the track... the other rider fell down... Capirossi won the 250 title.

That's racing boys.
when you're in the hunt for a title, you'll do anything to beat the guy in front of you.
at that level, its not even a contemplated decision, you make the pass, and deal with the consequences afterwards.
Every single rider on that grid has done MUCH worse to get to where they are.
That's fine.... but why is it the Aussie, N. Americans and Japanese getting penalized.... and never the Europeans?
because the FIM is run by italians.
They don't like Brits, Aussie's, Japs or Yanks?
That's the most politically incorrect thought that came to mind, which means its probably closest to the truth.
Sete looks too big and heavy to win
