    Re: Winter Storage Checklist

so new checklist is this sufficient

    1. use stands

    2. ensure gas tank is full, add fuel stabilizer and run for a bit to ensure stabilizer in in the lines
    - turn fuel switch to off if you have it

    3. disconnect/remove battery and store in cool dry place with a slow charger

    4. cover exhaust and plug drain hoses

    5. wash and then cover

i skipped the spark plug step,
and i also skipping the oil change ( it seems they concluded in the other thread its not necessary to change oil before storage as long as you change in the spring??)

Please quote my checklist and make your edits and post. Thanks!!!

    1. Change oil & filter
    2. Ride to the nearest gas station and put fuel stabilizer in tank then fill to the brim.
    3. Return home, park the bike on the centre stand in a place that will see as little temperature fluctuation as possible.
    4. Remove battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
    5. Plug exhaust and fluid vents.
    6. Chain bike to steel rail.
    7. Cover bike with breathable, lined cover as is suitable for an underground parking garage (your needs may vary).
    8. Monitor tire pressure and battery voltage periodically to make sure neither gets too low.
Not sure any more whether I should oil the brake rotors. Will let you know next year!

    Re: Winter Storage Checklist

i had intended to simply get on the bike and do a few laps around the block once a week. if there was snow, i like in a building with and park in an underground garage, so i could go around the garage... up and down the many levels, etc.

    would this be sufficient?
