My bike is idling at 3000, and thats the lowest it goes.Ive turned the idle adjustment screw all the way out and nothing happens. Also theres a pop coming from the exhaust every 2-3 seconds.Any ideas what might be happening?

Hey
I'm glad you sorted out your carb issues with the high idle and I'm glad that you were able to do it on your own, with only a few pointers from me! Give me a shout if you need anymore help.
Cheers...........

Are those 36mm or 38mm carbs?
Early ZX-7's had the same carbs as my bike, and I've got a spare diaphragm for a CVK36mm. I'm not sure when they switched over to 38mm.
And +1 to asking what your idling prob was.

did you have any issues cleaning out your carbs? I'm gonna pull min off the zx7r this winter and give them a good cleaning just have never done it b4. any pointers?
i posted a good link to carb removal and cleaning....
one difference is that u have to remove the throttle cables off the throttle tube as well to have enough slack to remove the cables off the carbs.
the choke cable bracket on carb #2 needs to be loosened so the cable can be removed of the slides.
after that, u got one vacuum line and one fuel line and loosen four bolts on the intake boots and u're done, carbs come off....

carb clean went well. was a little dissapointed when I opened up the backside, with the black caps, and found on of the diafragms were torn.. Was wondering what was causing the hesitation.. 150 for the part though..
The hardest part was putting everything back together.lol.
If this is the first time you're going to do it,i strongly suggest that you have a camera with you to take lots of pictures as you go along. You can also keep a little notebook to and make notes.Doesnt have to be detailed notes but something you can refer to in case you forget something.
Under each of the carbs, there is a little idle adjustment screw(not sure if thats the name).Tighten one all the way in counting how many turns you made before its completely in,then unscrew it to about 2 turns(not sure the actual number of turns, but this mechanic told me its usually about 1.5 to 2 turns).
Thats about it.Good Luck.

you need a manual! had i not had it i would have put it back the way it was after cleaning which was wrong...someone swapped the inner and outter jets...i wondered why it pulled weird in top end.
and its 1.75 turns out for fuel ratio jets, but thats just a guideline, i plan on putting it on a dyno come spring and then fine tuning it.
