I hope that's what happens. No matter what the rules are, there needs to be ONE set of rules.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. I think the DMG has realized that they do not operate in a vacuum, and unlike NASCAR, they are not in a position to dictate what everyone else does.

The dyno testing system may have made sense in the era of carburetors and simpler electronics, but not now.

Don't fool yourself, AMA, DMG and FIM want to slow the bikes down. The AMA/DMG thing happened a year to soon to make that kind of change unilaterally. Roger did give it a good try, though.

Honda and Suzuki just want to posture, they have no interest in running faster stuff than WSBK. They'll welcome slower bikes with open arms.

There's no question (now) that everyone is interested in slowing the bikes down, and for the same rationale as MotoGP and Formula 1 have had. It just took a while to realize that it is a common objective, and that it is in the best interest for everyone to do it the same way.

    Edmondson: Promoters Sign With DMG
    by dean adams
    Tuesday, September 16, 2008
And e-mail from Roger Edmondson confirms the rumor heard at Indy that all of the '08 AMA Superbike promoters have signed up to have '09 DMG events. And we note with glee that Road Atlanta seems to be a Spring race again--finally.
    The text of Edmondson's email:
EVERY 2008 AMA promoter has signed on with us for 2009. In order, we are going to be racing at Daytona International Speedway, Auto Club Speedway, Road Atlanta, Barber Motorsports Park, Infineon Raceway, Road America, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and Virginia International Raceway. Miller Motorsports Park has yet to determine if they will add an AMA round to their World Superbike weekend and there are no plans to add AMA races to the Indy GP. Hearland Park-Topeka and New Jersey Motorsports Park will be added to the schedule following inspection by the Rider Safety Committee, which will take place during the off-season. Contracts and details will be completed shortly and details will be released at the final race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
This will be the best schedule in recent years with reasonable event spacing and travel patterns.

MIC/USSB won't be able to compete...
