650 km/h on a 500 engine? I didnt think that was remotely possible.

I don't know if that speed is possible either, I'm no Bonneville buff, but this bike was running in the streamliner class I believe, so aerodynamics at high speed are excellent. Way better than any stock appearing bikes which are all essentially bricks, aerodynamically speaking, due to the large, upright frontal area.

There are worse ways to die and the guy obviously died doing what he loved. A life worth celebrating, not mourning.

It's tragic and sad, but it's also pretty heroic. Most of us will have the dubious pleasure of dying in bed. This guy died with his boots on, quite literally, at 385kph. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that I'd like to go that way, but I can think of a thousand worse ways.

RIP, and be proud of a life lived fully and completely. You're an inspiration to us - in a world of grey bureaucrats and insurance adjusters, you remind us that living can be something much more exciting and real.
