Ok so I forgot to pay a minor speeding ticket i got last year, so lil did i know my license was suspended. I went to renew my sticker and thats when i found out. She said sometimes they send stuff and sometimes they dont, so kinda retarded but whatever. Anyways So i paid the fine asap and the reinstatement fee.
Now what I want to know is , will the suspension hurt my record alot, or just the ticket(obviously). It didnt get suspended for anything crazy, just forgetting to pay a fine, so i wonder if my insurance will ding me cuz it was suspended for all of 1 week?
I've been told that the increases associated with these can be waived at the discretion of your broker, assuming the license was suspended for less than 30 days.
You might want to ask this in the insurance section instead of here though, get advice from actual insurance experts.
Ya is spoke to my agent and they said it should not affect your insurance, it wasnt suspended for an offence, but like the one guy said , it was administrative.
when I got insurance for my truck I asked them if someone gets a DUI and gets their license suspended for 3 months but the conviction gets thrown out, would that affect someone's insurance. He said NO since the person was not convicted of anything and it was a suspension for less then 1 year. BUT if you leave that info out when your insurance company ask if you ever got a suspension then they got you for "Non-disclosure" and that's BAD news.
"I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

This same thing happened to me. I went in, paid the money for reinstatement, and had it back in no time. When I told my agent about it, he said it wasn't a problem, just an administrative suspension, so it doesn't count against me.
As for the guy paying $430 a year for insurance, who thinks he should be under $400... so do you think your insurer is "nailing" you with that extra $30 because of your suspension?
