    Highway 518 condition?

Has anybody ridden on Highway 518 this year? I was on it about 3 years ago and it was extremly bumpy, and I was wondering if any construction had been recently done on it. I will be in the area on the long weekend, and was wondering about riding it again, probably from Swords road to Hwy 2 to Huntsville.

It's under construction, in the process of being "neutered".

I like the old 518 ... the one that kept you on your toes, and followed the profile of every hill and around every lake rather than cutting through the landscape.

It is a f'ing mess. I was on it yesterday and today.
One section of thick loose gravel is 10kms long and the other, a few kms later, is about the same. The road is great east of Bear Lake to Hwy 11.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like it should be avoided for a while.
