Hello all, trying to plan a route to Niagara-on-the-Lake and have come up with this so far...
Just want to get some feedback on what you guys think and/or if you have any suggestions as to stops, detours, etc.

Thanks Mike. Is this what you mean?

If so, can I ask why or is it just to avoid St. Catharines?
I would avoid main st if I can. too many stop lights, took us like 30-45min just to get out of there. there are also many other nice twisties south of the area. But depends on how long you want to ride for. 20 mile rd is crazy, and the roads around effingham are good too.
"banned it" Gary, I think, lead us through a couple really nice roads. Here's what I remember of it.

Becareful at the intersections, lots of sand.

I want these parts gone! make me an offer.
please email me directly, I don't check the forums anymore. Thanks!
This is deffinately the route you want to take, unless you want to do the side trip. Port dalhousie has the beach and a bunch of bars, an ice cream place, and a candy store. Kinda nice to stop there on the bike and check out the scenery if you know what I mean. This is just a nicer route than taking Niagara St. less traffic, and better riding roads.
Another note, when on king st (81) In Grimsby/beamsville/vineland, watch your speed. There has been a blitz along that road the last few weeks.
Also on King st. before you turn onto 7th ave, in the bottom of the hairpin turn is a lot of gravel washed down someone's driveway from all the rain. I take this road to work everyday.
If you like short, steep hills - take this country road. About 20 minutes of sheer fun! Puts a giant grin on my face every time. Plus, it beats riding through town.

+1 - If you're going through St. Catharines, King/Pelham, Effingham, Decew and Beaverdams are a must. HWY58 tunnel is fun too (loud).
One change I would suggest is to ditch Cataract Rd. (straight and slow with lots of hills) and take North Pelham instead (extremely tight roads in this area, alot of debris though, and watch for deer).
Port Dalhousie does have some nice scenery, but unless you're going to be there on a bar night I don't see much point... I think the Pelham area is more scenic with the Shorthills, Rockway Glen, etc.
I have to admit that I do not know the names of all of the roads out there....I have followed friends most of the time...when I go by myself I sometimes get a little lost. But that is ok too...somtimes you stumble across some very cool things when you get lost. There are some really nice roads in the general vacinity...
