No you do not, because it is public lapping. It's not about how fast you go, it's about how many laps you can do in 3 hours.

is it worth doing ? Thinking safety first!
I'd come out and run around for a few hours but I don't want to share the track with people\public that have been out all day already!

This is an awesome idea!
I think everyone knows their limits and will ride within them, good for TMP for organizing this and props to everyone involved, hope everything runs smoothly!

just a thought off the top of my head.
From websters:
"RACE"
Function: Noun
a contest or rivalry involving progress toward a goal
so,
The goal is to complete as many laps as possible in a 3 hour timeframe?
The timeframe is 5pm to 8pm.
I think the definition of a "RACE" has been met by their own description, however they also claim this is NOT a race, even though the event is described as their "very first Endurance Race Event"
I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but this sounds like a race event to me.
Any race event that I've ever been involved in, be it roadracing, motocross, supermoto, dirt track or enduro was required to have a sanctioning body involved.
It also required that you have a competion membership with said sanctioning body
Who will be the sanctioning body for this event?
CMA?
CMRC?
PMP?
RACE?
What are the license requirements for the event?
on the technical side, is a tire change during pit stops mandatory??
3 hours of riding would work out to be about 140 laps on this track, if the average lap time is 1:30, which is on the slow side for this track.
140 laps is well beyond the useful life of even a new set of race tires(Pirelli recommends changing tires after 70-80 laps).
Add to this, the fact that the event is being run after an all day lapping event, where most people will already have 50+ laps on their tires before starting the 3 hour event, and most trackday riders start the day on used tires to begin with.
so, a conservative estimate is going to see a racing event run on tires with close to 200 laps of wear on them?
Insurance?
Let's not forget this demon....

Other than that grey area I think it would be a nice, safe, sprint to 3 track days, which is a faction of the cost of replacing gear, let alone about 800 in tires and fuel, on the conservative side, and not taking into account that if numb nut that has already been on the track all day puts me into no mans land, I think I should almost break even, then again I never really was good at math, being an electrician an all, lol.
Peace
