under 20 here as well on a 250. A 125 or a 250 is your best bet. Insurance companies don't like us very much, so be ready to pay some hefty premium. a 500 was out of question for me as well because they wanted 2600 for it and 2800 for a supersport. (didn't make much sense to me).

    oh and Welcome!

welcome, State Farm rocks...but they won't insure your bike alone. I had to switch my car to them as well. call around! I think there's a post on insurance somewhere here.

    Cheers

    Hello Renata..welcome to the forum!!
I agree with previous replies..cbr125 or Ninja250 are the perfect starter bikes! (then don't ask me why did I start with Ninja 636..it just happened!!)
Regarding Insurance, provided that your age & first time rider..it will be bit challenging but it is possible..do your home work and get as much as quotes! Speak to Britney since she has already got one! Good Luck!

definitely recommend the ninja 250. Great starter bike, forgiving, amazing on gas and insurance, and still good off the line (if you're willing to redline). If you can find one though... otherwise there's the 09 group buy... And welcome to the forums!

    buy an R6.
    you'd look so hawt on a R6.

    just kidding
buy a used piece o crap...ride it till end of summer..for the next month or so.
sell it next year and then buy an R6.

    don't buy a NEW BIKE..its just a toy!

Welcome, I ride the CBR125R and it I like it. it's light and nimble on local roads but it will scare you on the highway.
