What is the time of the infraction? Was there any signs that say something along the lines of "No parking between x time and y time"
|
I've been parking on the North Side of Front Street East between Church and Jarvis for the last 2 or 3 weeks and just today i got a ticket. I thought I was allowed to park there. Its a Municipal parking, i'm on the street at the correct parking angle.
According to the ticket:
Location - OPP 75 Front St E
Parking Infraction of - Stop signed highway during prohibited (times/days).
I don't think this is right, there another bike that always parks there too.
Any advice?

Were you possibly outside of the square parking spot lines or on the wrong side of a parking post?
Hmm....go back and check the signage to be sure. Although there might be vehicles parked along the street, there maybe be certain sections of the road that have special rules and timings applied to them. Did you notice whether anyone else around you had been ticketed?
i think Front is a rush hour route which may be till 9:30am. if you were on the north side then it could be a ticket for that.
Any chance they'd throw this out in court?
Also, i remember reading a post a while ago about the courts being so backlogged that most parking ticket court dates are simply thrown out. Can somebody confirm or deny this?
It's a 30 dollar ticket, right? Is it worth your time to fight it? If so, go for it.
1 hour to go to submit the ticket, 2 hours to go fight the ticket in court.

Have you checked yet whether or not there was signage posted? Even if you fight the ticket and get it lost in this black hole of a backlog, you might want to know for future reference.
I'll just fight the ticket by grounds of "ridiculousness".
Illegal is illegal, I don't think you have much of a leg to stand on.
Let's hope that backlog swallows that ticket.
