    THE CANADIAN PRESS
ESPANOLA–An off-duty provincial police officer killed in a motorcycle crash has been identified as Det.-Sgt. Paul Clairmont.
Clairmont was with the Sudbury investigation and enforcement bureau assigned to the provincial Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
He was killed yesterday afternoon around 3 p.m. on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Sudbury when his motorcycle collided with a car.
A man and woman in the car were treated for minor injuries.
The crash closed Highway 17 for about 10 hours, leaving some travellers stranded overnight.

Last week I had a motorcycle officer pull me over on Lakeshore. I asked him where his gear is, and he responded that "we aren't supposed to go down".

Too bad for the officer who did go down.

    RIP
