Anyone know a community speed zone in the GTA where they have a "this is your speed" board on the side of the road?
Would be a good place to check speedometers...
"You taking me for a walk with that?"
ok. How fast does your Garmin go?

Most factory speedometers are set about 8 kph less than you are actually going.
If you really want to check, use your GPS. That's how I verified the difference.

We had a sign like that down the road last week. Everytime I blew by it it said '00'. It only had 2 digits so i guess I was going faster that it could show
They should have a top score...
That's when they nab you - when you come back to enter your initials.

Thanks Luke. I'll check to see if the board is up at Keele and Rutherford. And seriously, I'd be happy to try someone's GPS too. Hmmm, there must be a Tim's nearby...

Lewiston Bridge.. I wouldn't advise you to go checking ur speed there though....

I'm not sure how well these work for bikes. I found one one night and my speedo was bang on, so I thought I'd turn around and try it faster to see how accurate it is at high speed, and on the way by, it didn't register my bike at all.
My bike is geared, my truck has big tires. I was curious how accurate both of them were.
Next time you see a cop doing radar, just stop and ask them to check for you. Go down the street at a steady XX km/hr according to your speedometer then come back and ask them what the radar said. They've been happy to do it for me in the past. Remember, not all cops are ********.
OK, heading over to Jacob Keffer Parkway now (unless I pass a cop with a radar gun willing to check my speed...)
