Slowbird.. I buy Supertech filters at US Wal Mart. They're Champion filters so as good as OEM but cost $2.50 a pop. For your bike, you'd need Supertech ST3593a. I recommend that you stock up since they're so cheap

Alright I just called to put the order in but you have to pay up front so you have to order from the store physically.

For 12 PL14612s (the 2.5" filter) he quoted me ~13-15/per filter (so $156-180+tx).

You can order them in individually, but he said it would be about $20 per filter.

I'll probably go over sometime next week and order 6, unless somebody else wants in on it.

Said it takes about a week from when you order for them to come in.

You can only get these at WAL-MARTs in the States?

To help with your group buy....

Any bike on this list with the number (5) beside it uses this same filter.
    Lots of Kawi's, Yami's and Hondi's - No suzuki's.

Unfortunately. That's why I clean out the shelf holding the 7317's every time I go there lol. 2 trips (1 biz and 1 to Buffalo to update my wardrobe) got me set for a season and a bit. You can probably call ahead and have them order some extras for you. That's when I also stocked up on Rotella 5w40 since it's like $17 per gallon compared to $30 in Canada.

What a rip off!!! They cost less than $6 in Advanced Auto Part, US. I don't understand it. Ok, I don't mind to pay 10% - 15% more for the filter to support local ''stealers'', but not over 300%!!! And I'm not going to pay over $30 for semi synth oil (Motul 5100), when I can get FULL synth for $17 (Rotella).
I usually do exactly what FiReSTaRT does. I buy 5-6 filters + Rotella. Huge saving over canadian prices!

Then pickup Esso XD-3 for $23, better oil than Rotella T.

The key points are the specs on the filter, th'd & bypass PSI:

    These Oil Filters
    have 20 x 1.5mm threads,
    14 psi by-pass valve,
    anti-drain back valve,
    2.3" O.D. gasket
    2.5" to 3.5" long.
If you have the room, I recommend the longer filters.

FYI: Also the same filter specs for a Mazda MX-6. Bosch or Mobil 1 can be found for $8. Beats $17 for a bike OEM.

I got a buddy who was going on a sidecar MSF course in Virgina to pick me up a case of PureOne's at Advance Auto Parts. It's amazing how much cheaper they are down there.

The only weird thing is that they changed the color of the their premium filters from blue & white to some nasty Puke Yellow color.

I'm switching over to Esso XD-3 0w40. I'm not dissatisfied with Rotella by any means. I just don't mind paying a couple of bucks extra to support local sale of a great product. Picked up a couple of galons since a coworker hooked me up with a 10% discount (working 2 jobs, one of them being @ WM).

I'll definitely try it when I go out of Rotella (still have 4 gallons of it)!

I remember seeing a website that identified the major oil filter manufacturers and who made what under what brand name. Anyone know this website?

I'm trying to figure out who makes K&N's filters - whether it's them or someone like Denso or HiFlo.

I think I remember seeing that whomever makes mobil1 filters makes K&N filters.

FYI: NAPA Gold's are far from top of the line. Barely equal with OEM.

And the NAPA in Waterdown sells Gold filters for $8.50. 1356 I believe fits most bikes, atleast Kawi's.

1356 also fits many Yamis (fits mine). However, I had issues with its seal. Since I switched over to ST7317, the issues stopped.

I would have to disagree. NAPA gold filters are made by WIX. WIX are very good filters - alot better then OEM - for cars anyway.

Bosh 3300 oil filters can be had here for $6.95 CA no sales tax just shipping from a place in Quebec, shipping is a little high but I think it still ok.
