    Oil Filters: Purolator PureOne

Anybody know where to get these? I've been having a hell of a time trying to grab them in Canada... Specifically the PL14612 and PL14610.

    Thanks,
    Brian

There is an auto parts store in Calgary that sells them but no online presence.

Man, you guys are so wrong! I buy second line Purolator Pure One filters all the time for my car.. they are made by a company called Powerflo. Same part number but the PL is an SL. Same filter, same media inside, half the price.

I get them from a place in Mississauga called Motorcade, just up the street from Envy Rides, in the same plaza as Tremendous, behind that movie store (I used to work there.. haha)

    Motorcade Industries Ltd
    3550 Wolfedale Rd
    Mississauga, ON L5C 2V6
    (905) 848-1177

    The Powerflo SL14160 is $4.36.

Also, if you're really stern on buying Purolator Pure One branded, then Motorcade can order them for you but you have to buy a case of 12 or something.

As you may suspect by the part number, this filter is a Purolator Premium Plus. There were no manufacturing differences, but the cost was an average of $2 instead of $3.

That's very good to know. I've been using the ST7317 (comparable to the PL14610) that I'd buy at Wal Marts south of the border for $2.50 a pop. It's good to have a good and cheap local alternative.

Great info, and thanks for sharing..

But the Pure one is on a different level than the premium plus.
And those powerflo's are equal to premium plus filters.

Still likely the best one we can get here though. Great info.

Forget that, I'll buy a 12 pack of them - I'm sure I'll have no problem offloading them in the void here.

    Thanks for the info man!

    Re: Oil Filters: Purolator PureOne

Let me know how much a 12pack of PL14610 goes for. I might get a couple off you depending on my current stock of ST7317's. However, even Premium Plus filters seem to be on the level with Champions and they're as good as any stock filter.

You are correct sir. I called Motorcade and they have discontinued the Pure One line up on their shelves because there is no demand for them. However, they do carry the Premium Plus line. Which is the L14610, that sells for $9.64, whereas the same filter, branded as Powerflo (SL14610) is $4.36!

The PureOne Purolator is the only one worth getting.

Not true, I wouldn't need one on my bike. That's just overkill, maybe on the newer, more sensitive engines but mines a 1997 and yours is 11 years older than that! My engine is happy with the $4.36 filter

Unless the filter restricts the flow too much or unless it's not worth the added cost.

Sorta/kinda off topic but where do you all get oil filters for your Bikes?

No one carries anything for my Bike except Fram....and I don't want to go to the dealer.

Check royal distributing. They only have OEM equivalent filters, but they usually have much better prices
