507 Not Worth It!!

OK OK I Know I am going to to take some slack for this comment!!
I have a place in Dorset and I do most of my riding up in this area. It takes roughly 2h to get to the 507 from Toronto. I would agree in past years 507 was a great road but due to heavy winter the road has seen better days. (I rode it saturday.)If you just want to cruise it fine, but we all ride sport bikes and we like to put the hammer down every once in awhile. I would much rather take the two hours hit 118 which is paved like a babys butt! 35 North to 60 and back 11hwy and if you want a long run 169 to 38 through bala to the 400 and home. In Short we all put the 507 on this pedestal and it need to be KNOCKED OFF!!!!

good post. it's true, i remember noticing every year how the 507 was degrading.

i'm also thinking for the price of gas these days plus riding for approx 600- 800 km day run, that gas money could have gone towarrds a track day and you could really have some safe fun, while really pushing the bike.

200kms = 21 bucks now.

60 - 80 bucks = half a track day cost.

I rode the 507 2 weeks ago, and had no problem pushing my bike to its limits. Maybe you should buy a goldwing.

I rode the 507 today.... from 36 to Gooderham, and then Old Buckhorn Road into Haliburton and I was able to push my bike right to the limits....
At one point I scrapped my peddal on the road and it totally ruined my rhythm, and I lost two or three strands from my streamers.... I also had to change my hockey card 3 times.... but my Raleigh Renegade really loves those roads...

Yeah I hear you..... it speaks to the lack of good roads in Ont.

Its not safe to go ripping through there ..... too many driveways, atvs, kicked up gravel, boat trailers.

I'm surprised its not more heavily policed than it is.

ROFLMAO,, I rode it WFO the whole way,, Never backed off once, Not Even a Challenge, And it was a REALLY Fast Ruckus 50cc Scooter.

Well in that case i'm glad i didnt end up going to the 507, went to bobcagen thru 57 and 35 then home. First decent ride of the season at 280 clicks and felt good hung over or not
